Deryk Houston - The Muskwa-Kechika Wilderness

.... returns to Canada House Gallery for his 4^th solo exhibition focusing on a new passion: raising awareness for the fragile and spectacular region Muskwa-Kechika of northern British Columbia. It is not very often that one gets access to the kind of wilderness found in the Muskwa-Kechika. In the summer of 2009 Houston rode horseback over mountain passes and down into huge valleys for eleven days. His group was led by Wayne Sawchuk and had an adventure every day. They encountered grizzlies in narrow mountain passes and even hauled a horse out of the river by rope. The National Geographic November 2008 edition has a story on Wayne and the Muskwa-Kechika. This spectacular exhibition will show the results of the inspiring journey that Houston experienced in this region.
